One more night of freeze warnings, then turning warmer

Once again, the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning tonight for much of the area.  The Freeze Warning is for the counties of Pasco southward through Sarasota County.  Pinellas County is not in the warning area, however location in the northern part of the county, north of Safety Harbor, will have to watch for freezing temperatures.

The overnight lows will warm slightly from last night's frigid readings in the teens to low 30s, but the mercury will dip below the freezing mark to the mid and upper 20s for many areas away from the water.

A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect for Hernando, Citrus and Sumter counties tonight.  There temperatures will dip to the low 20s.

This should be the last of the freezing temperatures for a while as a pattern shift will bring warmer air back to the sunshine state.  Highs will be topping out in the 70s with lows in the 50s starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend.  Long range forecasts do hint at some cold air around January 9, but even that air does not appear to be as cold as what we just went through.

After what will likely be on of the top 5 coldest Decembers on record, the rest of the winter appears to bring milder air with only a few cold snaps.
