Tampa Bay -- Do you know a person, business, or organization that goes above and beyond for the community? The Nature Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is now accepting nominations and sponsorships for its 2012 National Philanthropy Day® awards.

At the event on Nov. 13, philanthropists from the Tampa Bay area will be recognized for their dedication to community service and giving. 

The event will honor community leaders in six categories, including:

  • Philanthropist of the Year
  • Philanthropic Corporation of the Year
  • Philanthropic Small Business of the Year
  • Philanthropic Service Organizations of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year in Philanthropy
  • Youth in Philanthropy 

The nominating process is open and all nonprofit agencies are encouraged to participate by completing a nomination form available online at www.afp-naturecoast.org. Nomination forms are due by Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Proceeds from National Philanthropy Day® benefit the AFP Nature Coast Chapter in their work to promote ethical and effective professional fundraising. Sponsorships are available starting at $300 which include a table of 8 at the event. Individual tickets are $30. Early bird rates providing a 10% discount is available until Sept. 4.

The event will be held at Spartan Manor, located at 6121 Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey.
